Busy, Busy, Busy!

I apologize for being quiet lately.  Things have really gotten busy and I am happy to say, "I HAVE BEEN WRITING DAILY!"  Its such a great feeling to be meeting this goal and I hope you are having success, too.  I just feel badly because my writing projects have not allowed time to blog about them.

In a nutshell, I have been busy for two reasons...

1)  Homework from my weekly writing class that I am taking through Gotham Writer's Workshop.
2)  Critiques from both my class and my monthly Critique Group have really helped me focus on my manuscripts and revise, revise, revise!

The good news is that I have TWO completed picture book manuscripts that are very strong and I am now looking this week to submit to a Literary Agent.  Phew!  What a whirlwind this has been.  But things happen when you make them a daily priority!

Lastly, I am going to be participating in PiBoIdMo 2011 (Picture Book Idea Month) which starts November 1st.  The idea is to generate Picture Book ideas every day in the month of November....in hopes that they lead to manuscripts.  If you are interested in participating, please visit taralazar.wordpress.com.

For you novelists out there, there is NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) which also starts November 1st.  The goal of NaNoWriMo is to write an entire novel in ONE MONTH!  Quite a challenge to take on.  Visit http://www.nanowrimo.org/ if you are interested in signing up for that challenge!

And please post about the successes and challenges you are facing.  Together we can support and encourage...as well as celebrate!

Happy Writing!

  1. HI. Found you through the PiBoIdMo blog list. So, you were able to have two PB manuscripts from one of the Gotham classes? I've been interested in taking one... sounds like you got your money's worth. Good luck with the picture book ideas.

  2. Thanks for joining the blog, Stacy. To be totally honest, I had been working on one of the manuscripts (the one I submitted) for over a year. It was the critiques I got in class that allowed me to complete it. But yes, I definitely feel like I have gotten every pennies worth in my class. I recommend them highly!
