Quite a week

Hello.
Its been quite a week here in the NYC area.
I apologize but there is no Friendspiration today.
On Sunday I will be running the NYC Marathon with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
It has been a difficult decision during this time of despair.
I searched my heart...and I am going to run.  But it is with a heavy heavy heart.
Please continue to pray and donate to the rescue and relief.
I am pretty fried right now and cannot post all of the links I want to for resource.  (ie. The Red Cross).  Please feel free to post comments regarding ways to help below.

Best,
Marcie

  1. You deserve a little friendship this Friday. Good luck in the Marathon, and stay safe. Here's the address for the Red Cross Greater New York Region: http://www.nyredcross.org/

  2. So glad you decided to run - hope it frees the weight in your heart some. It helps me to know you are out there doing it! NY has lost approx. 6000 units of blood due to Sandy. If I could, I would, but here's a link for NYers: http://www.nybc.org/donor-center-nyc.do?sid0=104&page_id=278

  3. Marcie,
I'm praying for you. Remember all things work together for good. Something good will come of all of this tragedy. I just read on the news the run was canceled. Will they postpone?

  4. Hi Marcie- I was thinking of you since they announced the marathon was cancelled. Such a tough decision either way. Sandy may be "over" but I'm afraid the clouds are still lingering over NY and NJ. How did you end up spending the day?
