2nd ANNUAL LITERARY FOOD FIGHT!: The Winners

I am a few days late, I know.  But judging this year was incredibly difficult.  And with all of that slop took a long time to clean up.

Thank you so much for the 5 final stories.  Such creativity!

We had a story that required gas masks to clean up; stories that trashed both a McDonalds and a grocery store, one that included a food slinging monkey; and even a Bacon Elementary.  Mmmm.

A few brave contestants set their stories in rhyme, and all of the Flingers quickly jumped on board.  And two stories even included illustration.

This was very tough. As I said, the creativity was overwhelming and definitely had me rolling on the very sticky floor.

All of the winners this year will receive a  hardcover copy of the delightfully rhyming FOOD FIGHT! by Carol Diggory Shields, whimsically illustrated in clay by Doreen GayKassel.

This book has been a favorite in my family for years and will hopefully inspire you all to participate again next year.

First we have the prize for the Most Food Flung.

In this case, it was a TIE!  With 9 fabulous tosses of glop each, these two commented multiple times on each story and definitely were community personified.

JACKIE WELLINGTON
and
SUE PODUSKA!!!!

Both of you need to be sure to email me your address at marciecolleen@gmail.com to claim your prize..

And now the winner of The Best Story.

The judging finally came down to the story which was not only creative in its setting, scenario and characters, but also kept me wondering what the sequel will hold.  Seriously, the characters were so fleshed out and the language was peppered with fun similes and metaphors that had me chuckling.  I hope we haven't seen the last of the firey red Priscilla Witherspoon.

The winner of the 2nd ANNUAL LITERARY FOOD FIGHT "Best Story" is

THE DREADED INTENT BY JULIE ROWAN-ZOCH!!!!!!!

Please reach out to me at marciecolleen@gmail.com so we arranged your prize.

Congrats to the winners. And once again, thank you to all of our participants. I hope it was truly a good time and we hope to play with you again next year!

I also want to thank Julie Rowan-Zoch for our fabulous badge.
